Completed Projects

  • Research project installing pollinator plants at two retention ponds in collaboration with the Wake Forest Stormwater Department
  • Assisted a student at Franklin Academy High School to plan and install a garden at Franklin Academy High School to earn a Girl Scout badge.  We donated several plants for the garden and facilitated the free donation of a sign for the garden from the NCWF
  • The Wildlife Garden at Forest Ridge Park. Created in 2017 and maintained through 2023

  • Participation in the Bradford Pear Bounty Exchange Program
  • Monitored bluebird nests using the Cornell NestWatch app at Forest Ridge Park

  • Northeast Community Garden in Wake Forest
  • Presentations about our chapter to area organizations – Wake Forest Woman’s Club, Wake Forest Garden Club, Rotary, DAR, Del Webb Garden Club
  • Booth at the Forest Fest event
  • Booth at the Wake Forest Garden Club Art & Plant Festival
  • The Little Nature Library across from Holding Park
  • Nature Walks at area greenways, parks and preserves
